Can PFOA and PFOS be removed from the water?

If PFOA or PFOS are detected in our water supply at unacceptable levels, water quality can be improved by:

  • Removing the supply from service;
  • Blending it with other, unaffected supplies; or
  • Treating it using activated carbon, reverse osmosis, or ion exchange.
