MVWD proudly announces Michelle Licea, Projects Assistant, as the 2019 MVWD Employee of the Year! Michelle and four other tenured employees were recognized for District Employee Service Awards during a recent all-staff meeting held via teleconference.

Michelle has been with the District for just over two years, providing project management and administrative assistance to the Engineering, Operations and Maintenance departments. She is responsible for preparing and submitting monitoring reports to various regulatory agencies; analyzing, compiling and importing laboratory data for compliance with water quality regulations; and coordinating agreements, contracts, bid packages, researching property/easement information.

Each spring, MVWD employees are asked to nominate one of their peers for this prestigious award.  Michelle’s nomination highlighted her respectful, kind interaction with coworkers and customers. In addition to her duties, she has taken on a vital role in compliance reporting (19 different mandatory reports) and water quality monitoring and scheduling. Michelle’s colleagues described her as having a “superb attitude and outstanding performance, distinguish[ing] her as a model employee.”

In addition to awarding the 2019 Employee of the Year, several other MVWD staff were recognized for their years of service to the District.  Jeff Malloy, Water System Operator II, has served MVWD for 30 years; Todd Paxson, Senior Utility Service Worker, celebrates 15 years of service with MVWD, and Larry Martinez, Utility Service Worker II, as well as Ismael Ortiz, Meter Technician II, were recognized for a decade of service with the District.

Please join us in congratulating our 2019 Employee of the Year as well as those who achieved milestone service anniversaries with the District!  Thank you for your continued service to Monte Vista Water District and the communities of Montclair, Chino and Chino Hills.
