Two MVWD employees were recently recognized as the 2022 Employee of the Year at the agency’s annual Employee Awards Luncheon. Congratulations, Kelley Donaldson and Gabby De La Cruz!
Kelley, Community Affairs Manager, has been with the agency since December 2018. Kelley leads the Community Affairs Department and provides direction and oversight for the District’s public information, water use efficiency and educational programs and activities. She is also responsible for governmental and legislative affairs for the District. One of her colleagues, who nominated her for the award, stated, “She is most deserving of this award because of her ongoing contributions to her department, the management team and the agency as a whole.” Another colleague mentioned, “she is committed to making MVWD a better place and this is demonstrated in how she gives 110% in all that she is tasked with.”
Gabby De Cruz, Community Affairs Coordinator, has been with the agency since July 2012. Gabby performs a variety of duties related to the District’s public relations, community outreach, and education programs and activities; she develops and implements community education and outreach programs and serves as a representative for the District with other public agencies, committees. “Gabby demonstrates each one of the core values and serves with genuine pride and love for the organization,” said one colleague. “She brings fresh perspectives and innovative ideas to complex situations and is always looking for ways to improve the District, Customer Service and Communications.”
