MVWD Awarded Top Workplace 2022 by Inland Empire Top Workplaces

Monte Vista Water District has been awarded a Top Workplaces 2022 honor by the Inland Empire Top Workplaces. The award is based solely on employee feedback gathered through a third-party administered survey.

The confidential survey measures 15 culture drivers that are critical to the success of an organization, including alignment with agency’s values, engaging employees meaningfully, coaching and development as well as performance execution.

“We strive to foster a healthy culture and work environment at Monte Vista Water District,” said Justin Scott-Coe, General Manager. “The results of this survey illustrate our employees are connected, goal-oriented, and dedicated to each other and our community.”

MVWD has a small but mighty workforce with just 37 employees delivering high-quality tap water to more than 12,000 homes, businesses, and properties in Montclair, portions of Chino and unincorporated San Bernardino County, as well as wholesale water service to Chino Hills. The District strives to be a premier agency in the region that leads by example and demonstrates continual improvement, advancement, and innovation. A strategic plan, adopted by MVWD’s Board of Directors, identifies seven goals to serve as guiding principles for short- and long-term initiatives that maintain or enhance the District’s services.

“Earning a Top Workplaces award is a badge of honor for companies, especially because it comes authentically from their employees,” said Eric Rubino, CEO of Energage LLC, which administered the survey. “That’s something to be proud of. In today’s market, leaders must ensure they’re allowing employees to have a voice and be heard. That’s paramount. Top Workplaces do this, and it pays dividends.”

Post-pandemic employment is changing across all industries. Energage’s research has found that Top Workplaces prevent employee turnover through the strength of their culture, a positive workplace experience, and external recognition as an employer-of-choice. MVWD has the kind of environment that attracts, retains, and develops the talent needed to be a successful agency.

“MVWD staff are professional and passionate about what they do,” said Sandra Rose, President of the Board of Directors. “Ultimately, our customers benefit from exceptional customer service provided by a team of employees who are enthusiastic about their work.”
