[ARCHIVED] Public Hearing Set for 5/25/22

MVWD's Board of Directors (Board) will hold a public hearing on May 25, 2022 to receive public input on a proposed application to the Local Agency Formation Commission of San Bernardino County (LAFCO) to activate the District's latent powers to provide sewer service collection.

Prior to that, at their April 27, 2022 regularly schedule meeting, the Board will consider a staff recommendation to adopt a Mitigated Negative Declaration (MND), and associated Mitigation Monitoring and Reporting Program (MMRP) in compliance with the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) for the District to activate its latent power to provide sewer collection service within the unincorporated portions of its service area. The draft Initial Study/MND (IS/MND) was published and distributed as required by CEQA, with the public comment period ending March 4, 2022. The District reviewed all comments received and prepared responses to comments and minor clarifications to the IS/MND ("Response to Comments").The Draft IS/MND, MMRP, Response to Comments and other CEQA and project documents are available here.

The Board will consider adoption of the MND and MMRP, through adoption of the proposed Resolution 813-22, at a regular meeting at 6:30 p.m. on April 27, 2022. The District invites all public comment on this item, in person or via teleconference or in writing. See meeting agenda for details.

Following completion of CEQA review, the District would hold a public hearing to receive input on a proposed application to LAFCO to activate the District's latent powers to provide sewer collection service. The public hearing is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. on May 25, 2022. The public is invited to attend this hearing and to provide public comment, in person or via teleconference or in writing.
