The Board of Directors has set a public hearing for 6:30 p.m. on June 23, 2021 to discuss and potentially adopt the 2020 Urban Water Management Plan and Water Shortage Contingency Plan. The public hearing will take place at the next regularly scheduled Board of Directors meeting.
The UWMP provides the District with an action plan for long-term resource planning to ensure adequate water supplies are available for existing and future water supply needs. Additionally, the 2020 UWMP assesses water supply reliability resulting from potential prolonged drought, regulatory revisions, and/or changing climate conditions. The District has shared the UWMP updates with the cities of Montclair, Chino and Chino Hills as well as San Bernardino County and nine local community stakeholder organizations. Upon updating the UWMP, the District must hold a public hearing prior to its adoption, publish notice of the public hearing in the local newspaper as well as provide a copy of UWMP here for public review.
The state requires every urban water supplier to prepare and adopt an Urban Water Management Plan (UWMP) at least once every five years. The District's most recent 2015 UWMP was submitted to, and approved by the California Department of Water Resources (DWR) in 2016.
