The Monte Vista Water District Board of Directors elected officers at the January 13, 2021 board meeting. Re-elected to their positions were Sandra S. Rose, president; G. Michael Milhiser, vice president; and Manny Martinez, board auditor.
Rose began serving a fifth term of office this past December, having been first elected in 1999. She became the district’s first female board president and has served in that role since 2007. She has served on various committees during her tenure, currently serving on the Finance, Management Assessment, and Personnel committees. Rose is also a director on the Chaffey College Foundation board.
“I am grateful for the opportunity to continue to lead our board,” said President Rose. “I look forward to continuing to work closely with my colleagues to ensure an affordable and reliable water supply for the communities we serve.”
Milhiser is currently serving his third term of office. He serves on the Management Assessment and Personnel committees and represents MVWD on the Water Facilities Authority, Chino Basin Water Bank Joint Powers Authority, and the Association of California Water Agencies Joint Powers Insurance Authority boards.
Martinez, who is currently serving his second term on the board, was elected board auditor in 2019 and is on the Engineering and Public Information committees. He also represents the district on the Chino Basin Watermaster board and is a planning commissioner for the City of Montclair.
Monte Vista Water District’s bylaws call for an election of officers of the board of directors every two years following the statewide general election in November. Officers are selected by a majority vote of the members of the board.
